3. Objectives

The company discloses what qualitative and/or quantitative as well as temporally defined sustainability goals have been set and operationalised and how their level of achievement is monitored.

The cosnova Corporate Responsibility Strategy comprises four main topics which have been derived from the strategy process. Each focus is treated with the same priority. The Sustainable Development Goals assigned in the substantiality analysis were taken into account in the development of the goals, and corresponding KPIs were defined for each strategic goal. Once a year, the Corporate Responsibility Department presents a status report to the Executive Management in which all progress and goals are discussed and the goals for the following year are adjusted.

Harmlessness of our products (SDG 3, SDG 14, SDG 15, SDG 12, SDG1, SDG13)

Consideration of health, environmental and social aspects in the product development. The data basis for this topic is provided by an INCI analysis, which we have been conducting annually since 2014. In doing so, we assess the cosmetic ingredients we use in terms of their health, environmental and social aspects using a "traffic light evaluation". In addition, the annual consumption quantities of these raw materials are determined. Ongoing measures for the topic of harmlessness include:

Working conditions on the part of our business partners (SDG 8, SDG3, SDG 10, SDG7, SDG 13, SDG6)

Ensuring compliance with ILO Core Labor Standards and local legal requirements by our business partners. To this end, a Code of Conduct was drawn up in 2017. Further ongoing measures include, for example:
Waste (SDG 17, SDG 15, SDG 9, SDG 12, SDG 4, SDG 13)

Due to the complexity of the topic, we initially focused on the following topics:
  1. Secondary and tertiary packaging
  2. Display and marketing materials
  3. Obsoletes
In general, we strive to reduce the amount of waste produced. The use of more environmentally-friendly alternatives is just as relevant as the appropriate use of remaining waste, for example, by upcycling. Ongoing measures in this area include, for example: Social Engagement (SDG 10, SDG 2, SDG 3, SDG 1)

We would like to have a positive influence on the lives of other people, show an interest in the society in which we live and work, and actively contribute to improving it bit by bit. To achieve this goal, we are actively involved in the following ways:
