Describe your business model (including type of company, products / services)

PLEUGER INDUSTRIES (with the group recently rebranded as “PLEUGER”) is an international manufacturer and supplier of submersible motors, pumps, thrusters and plunger pumps and related services with headquarters in Miami, USA. Subsidiaries are located in Orleans, France, Torrington, CT/USA (from 2024) and PLEUGER Industries GmbH, our Centre of Excellence, located in Hamburg, Germany.
From Germany, we scope, design, engineer and manufacture best-in-class submersible pump and motor solutions up to 50' specific to the application. We also manufacture a broad range of standardized pumps from 4 to 10'. The brand PLEUGER is renowned worldwide across the energy, mining, water and industrial processing industries for high reliability and outstanding longevity. The products are designed, engineered and manufactured to solve tough applications in very challenging and harsh environments.
The story of PLEUGER stretches back to 1929 when Friedrich W. Pleuger innovated several technologies in submersible pump systems. These innovations transformed submersible pumping, and PLEUGER pumps were used all over the world to manage groundwater and flooding in major construction projects.   Today we are one of the largest independent submersible motor manufacturers in the world.
A lot has changed during the 90 years of our history. However, since the company was founded, PLEUGER has remained true to its promise:
Reliable. Always.

PLEUGER offshore thrusters and propulsion units are state-of-the-art manoeuvring systems. Used in floating platforms (SEMISUB), work vehicles and supply vessels, our marine propulsion systems are all designed and made in Germany, guaranteeing long-lasting technical precision and quality.

The Pleuger Azimuth Thruster has been developed especially for main propulsion systems, manoeuvring in port, or enhanced dynamic positioning. This makes it perfect for use in such applications as wind turbine installation, platform supply and any vessel requiring a high degree of manoeuvrability.

PLEUGER also manufactures ALDRICH reciprocating pumps and systems. The ALDRICH support services cover all aspects of support and consultancy during an installation’s life cycle. ALDRICH Pumps are designed for extended service life, and with the support of our services often running for decades operating safely even past the original design life.

Over the past years, PLEUGER has made important strides towards promoting sustainable practices and starting with reporting year 2022, PLEUGER introduced a structured, framework-based sustainability reporting. Where our initial report remained silent on certain aspects, KPIs, goals etc. to be reported in connection with DNK, and focussed exclusively on our German entity, this was done with the intention to reserve such aspects, KPIs, goals etc. for further consideration during the sustainability journey in the upcoming years. The forthcoming Sustainability Report for 2023, data is focussing on our centre of Excellence in Germany; but first details on local initiatives of our sister locations and our plans for PLEUGER ESG activities as a whole are also revealed.
