Describe your business model (including type of company, products / services)

As of 2022, Veja Mate Offshore Project (Veja Mate or VM) operates the third largest German off-shore wind farm. The company is named after the Latvian goddess for wind. Its goal is to harvest wind in the German Bay of the North Sea (renewable energy). The company was founded in 2012 as a GmbH (Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung / Limited Liability Company) registered in Germany under HRB 17426 HL. The object of theVeja Mate Project is acquisition, project planning, construction, operation, exploitation and dismantling of an offshore wind farm as well as sale and distribution of energy generated from it.
This report focuses on the operations and exploitation phase. Reporting year is 2022. Veja Mate is privately owned by four European investors.

In 2022, it employed 23 professionals in Germany. Veja Mate has been operational since 2017 with an installed capacity of 402 MW, producing enough electricity for 450.000 German homes per year. Over the lifetime of the wind farm, Veja Mate will offset over 18 million tons of CO2 which would otherwise have been generated through energy production using non-renewable resources (coal, gas). This is a significant contribution to the sustainability targets of Germany and Europe (Green Deal).

Please note that Veja Mate are a time-limited project management company whose success factor is people working together as a team efficiently to be successful. Therefore, the plural noun form has been used in this report.
