Describe your business model (including type of company, products / services)
INFORM is the market leader in AI and optimization software for improved decision-making. The Aachen-based company has been in the optimization business for 50 years and serves a wide range of industries, including automotive, mechanical engineering, banking, insurance, airports, ports, maritime, and intermodal terminals.
Digital Decision Making complements corporate IT with artificial intelligence (AI), giving companies a unique competitive advantage. The success factors include:
Hybrid AI – INFORM technology integrates operations research and artificial intelligence, including fuzzy logic and machine learning. The combination of computer algorithms and human expertise leads to results that are far superior to traditional management and purely data-driven algorithms.
Agile Optimization – Digital Decision Making enables a new management strategy based on intelligent, fast and interactive decision-making. Agile optimization is particularly useful where complex processes are confronted with many ad-hoc changes, volatility, disruptions, unpredictability, and time pressure.
Industry Expertise – Today, our more than 900 software engineers, data analysts, and consultants support turnkey solutions for more than 1,000 active customers worldwide in industry, retail, airports and ports, logistics, banking, insurance, and telecommunications. About this Report:
With regard to the key figures, the report refers to our German locations. INFORM uses this sustainability report to document its environmental and social performance and the progress made in implementing its sustainability goals for the 2023 reporting year. This should make it clear to our stakeholders what we mean by sustainability, how our software can contribute to the UN sustainability goals, and what environmental and social activities we have designed. The reporting period corresponds to the 2023 financial year, i.e., the period from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023.
Later in this document, the outlook for 2024 is given.
Since the publication of our first sustainability report for the 2019 financial year, we have been continuously professionalizing our reporting. In preparation for the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), we will again report in accordance with the German Sustainability Code (DNK) standard for the 2023 financial year. We report the key figures required by the DNK according to the "comply or explain" principle. We are, therefore, using a standard that will be compatible with the CSRD's European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
With regard to the key figures, the report refers to our German locations with a focus on the company headquarters in Aachen, although statements about our understanding of sustainability and the impact of our solutions apply globally.
