With eleven production sites located all over the world, Schwan Cosmetics has become the world market leader in private-label cosmetic pencils. Schwan Cosmetics caters to about 700 clients in almost 70 countries. The annual revenue for the fiscal year 2015/2016 was 364 million EUR. Schwan Cosmetics employs 3,198 people worldwide, of which 1,337 in Germany and 1,861 internationally. During the fiscal year 2015/2016, Schwan Cosmetics sold over 600 million pencils worldwide.
The company, which was founded in 1865, is family-owned and is, nowadays, operated by the fifth generation. In 1927, the company transferred its pencil making expertise to the cosmetics industry.
Since then, innovative developments by Schwan Cosmetics, such as the introduction of the direct casting process or the first mechanical cosmetic pencil, have had a continuous and long-lasting influence on the industry.
Schwan Cosmetics is headquartered in Heroldbserg, near Nuremberg, and its national and international subsidiaries are located in:
