The German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE) was first called into being by the German government in April 2001. The Council consists of 15 public figures. Its tasks comprise developing contributions to implement the National Sustainability Strategy, specifying concrete areas for action and projects, as well as making sustainability an important public issue. RNE’s allocated budget for 2015 to enable it to complete its tasks totaled EUR 2,457,377.00.

RNE is submitting this declaration of conformity in the spirit of voluntary self-disclosure.

Additional remarks (eg indication of external audit):

This declaration of conformity was proofread and annotated by two NGOs. The areas that came under particular scrutiny were those relating to political influence and opinion-forming at RNE (Criterion 19) and also aspects relating to public procurement and the combating of corruption (Criterion 20). On these matters, specific details based on current practice have been provided in the declaration of conformity for the 2015 reporting year in particular.

At the time of publication (May 2016), it was not possible to present the quantitative indicators. These will be added as soon as the data becomes available.
